Eccelle nel \u003cstrong\u003eblues\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003erock\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eindie\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003egarage\u003c\/strong\u003e e più in generale ovunque si cerchi un drive che risponda davvero all'attacco e al volume della chitarra. In studio è formidabile per posare una ritmica \"edge of breakup\" o per infoltire una presa senza annegarla. Dal vivo è perfetta come \u003cstrong\u003eboost granuloso\u003c\/strong\u003e per emergere nel mix, o come primo stadio di gain da sovrapporre a una distorsione, un fuzz o un amplificatore già in crunch.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch3\u003eControlli, architettura e punti chiave\u003c\/h3\u003e\u003cp\u003eLa Kingpin è volutamente diretta: si passa meno tempo a regolare, più tempo a suonare. Il circuito combina un primo stadio \u003cstrong\u003eMOSFET\u003c\/strong\u003e con headroom confortevole per spingere il segnale con pulizia, poi un secondo stadio \u003cstrong\u003eJFET\u003c\/strong\u003e che aggiunge una texture più ruvida e una sensazione \"amp-like\". Tra i due, i diodi al germanio assicurano un \u003cstrong\u003ehard clipping\u003c\/strong\u003e musicale, e il selettore \u003cstrong\u003eCLIP\u003c\/strong\u003e (3 posizioni) permette di dosare il livello di clipping al germanio in base al brano, alla chitarra o all'amplificatore. Con regolazioni leggere agisce come un esaltatore di carattere: un tocco di grana, una sensazione di compressione naturale e una ricchezza armonica che dà l'impressione che l'amplificatore lavori di più. Aumentando il clipping tramite il selettore, il drive diventa più denso, con più sustain e una saturazione più netta, senza perdere l'articolazione degli accordi. La sua dinamica è uno dei punti di forza: premia il gioco con il plettro e si mostra molto efficace nel pulire il suono abbassando il volume della chitarra, rendendola una candidata eccellente per una
